Solenoid Valve G3/4'' NO Brass FKM 0.2-16bar/3-232psi 230VAC Anti-Waterhammer 6281 20046973
Burkert 2/2 way solenoid valve (type 6281) with G 3/4 inch threads and a 230 V AC coil. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally open (voltage = close). The valve is indirect operating, so a small differential pressure required. Suitable for max media temperatures of 90 °C (194 °F) and a pressure range of 0.2 - 16 bar (3 - 232 psi). Housing of brass with FKM sealing and a 20 mm orifice. The Kv-value is 8.5 m3/h (141.69 l/min at dp = 1 bar water). Low risk of water hammer thanks to dampened closing.
Note: DIN connector not included.

Description
This is a Burkert indirect operating 2/2 way solenoid valve with G 3/4 inch threads and a 230 V AC coil. The valve has a brass housing with FKM sealing and an orifice size of 20 mm. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally open, which means the valve closes when voltage is applied. Suitable for a pressure of 0.2 - 16 bar (3 - 232 psi) and a maximum temperature of 90 °C (194 °F). The valve has a Kv-value of 8.5 m3/h, this translates to a flow rate of 142 l/min at a differential pressure of 1 bar (for water). In imperial units: Cv = 10, which means 10 GPM @ 1 psi pressure drop. For many applications it is enough to select a valve based on the thread size and orifice diameter. For more accurate sizing, use the Kv-value with our easy to use valve sizing calculator. The brass housing is durable, suitable for neutral fluids and resistant to many chemicals. The FKM (fluorine rubber or Viton) sealing has excellent chemical properties, is suited for most oils and solvents but it cannot handle hot water or steam. Please note that the internal valve parts, such as the stainless steel plunger and springs, are also in contact with the medium and must be chemically compatible. Consult our chemical resistance chart to verify compatibility of housing and seals with the medium. The valve's design prevents water hammering. The valve has an IP65 rating if properly connected. The valve is equipped with a "kick-and-drop" function, which provides a high inrush current to switch the valve and then reduces to a low holding current to keep the valve in position. This results in a significant reduction in power consumption.
Pros:
- Peak-and-hold electronics enable low energy consumption by delivering a high current to open the valve, which then decreases to a low holding current
- Good protection against the environment thanks to the IP65 rating
- Type 6281 is ideal for larger flows
- Solenoid valves open and close very fast compared to many other valve types
- A damped design ensures reduced noise levels
- Low risk on water hammer, thanks to the dampened closing
Cons:
- Not suited for low pressure differentials (< 0.2 bar). In case of low pressure or a vacuum, consider a (semi-)direct solenoid valve
- Solenoid valves are very sensitive to dirt and can only be used with clean liquids and gases
- The coil may get hot when energized. A well ventilated environment is recommended
Series:
The Bürkert 6281 valve is an indirect operated solenoid valve of the S.EV series. To open and close, the valve features a large flexible rubber membrane. The pressure difference over the inlet and outlet ports is used to move the membrane up and down. A minimal pressure differential is always required. Thanks to the special design of the membrane and valve seat, the valve operates quietly. The brass housing satisfies all European drinking water requirements. The 6281 series offers various options, including different housing materials, ATEX versions, and a manual override feature.
