Pneumatic Actuated Flanged Ball Valve 3-Way L-port DN50 PN16 Stainless Steel
This pneumatically actuated 3-way DN 50 flanged ball valve is made of stainless steel with Teflon (PTFE) sealings. The valve is suitable for hot water and steam, water, air, carbon dioxide, dilute acids and bases, strong acids and bases, oil, fuel, solvents, alcohols, lubricant, combustible gases, sea water and demineralized water up to a maximum pressure of 16 bar (232 psi). The pneumatic actuator has an anodized aluminum housing with aluminum covers. The valve operates within a temperature range from -20 to 200 °C (-4 to 392 °F). The actuator withstands temperatures up to 80 °C (176 °F), so for higher media temperatures the actuator should be cooled. The valve is delivered with a T4 configuration (see diagram).

Pros:
- Unobstructed flow path thanks to the full bore design
- Easy installation and maintenance thanks to the standardized DN 50/PN 16 flange
- Lower investment cost than an electric version
- Fast opening/closing
- Suitable for aggressive media and high temperatures thanks to the high quality materials
- Pressure inlet possible on all three ports
Cons:
- The pneumatically actuated valve requires a compressed air system and a solenoid valve to control the air supply
- Energy consumption is higher than compared with electric actuators, but initial investment is lower
