Description
This 2-way flanged ball valve with a full bore (50 mm) provides reliable on/off flow control. The valve has DN 50 PN 16 flanges for connection with pipes on both sides and a standard length of 150 mm according to DIN 3202-F4.
The housing of the valve is made of cast iron and the ball is made of brass. The sealings are made of PTFE/FKM. The valve is suitable for water, oil, compressed air, vacuum application (max. -0.999 bar or -14.49 psi) and fuel gases according to DVGW G260 up to a maximum pressure of 16 bar or 232 psi. The valve operates within a temperature range from -20 to 120 °C (from -4 to 248 °F). For fuel gases up to 60 °C or 140 °F.
Use the handle to operate the valve. By rotating it 90 degrees, the valve will open or close. If the handle is perpendicular to the pipe, the valve is closed. Avoid opening and closing it quickly to protect the system from the possible water hammer and further damage. The valve has a flange according to the ISO 5211 F05 norm. This makes the valve suitable for electrical or pneumatic actuation. Always check if the design of the mounting flange suits your actuator.
Pros:
- The 2-part construction provides inspection and maintenance capabilities
- The valve has a standardized length according to DIN 3202-F4
- Unobstructed media flow path thanks to the full bore construction
- The ISO 5211 flange makes it suitable for electrical and pneumatic actuators and it is equipped with a handle for manual actuation
- Suitable for vacuum applications
- Easy interchange and maintenance thanks to the standardized DN 50/PN 16 flange
Cons:
- To disassemble the valve for inspection and cleaning it has to be completely removed from the pipe
- Please note that mounting an actuator on the ISO top flange of the valve requires an adapter
BL2CI-AMF-GA series
Our cast iron flanged ball valve series with gas approval ranges from DN 50 to DN 125. The operating pressure of these valves is from -0.9 bar or -13 psi to 40 bar or 580 psi . The housing is made of cast iron GGG40 and the ball is made of hard chromium-plated brass. These valves are suitable for a wide variety of media, such as water, oil, compressed air and fuel gases. The high quality materials and PTFE/FKM sealings provide an operating temperature range of -20 to 120 °C (-4 to 248 °F) and for fuel gases up to 60 °C or 140 °F. The length of the valves conforms to DIN 3202-F4 standard. Besides flanges for connection with piping systems these valves are equipped with an ISO 5211 flange. This flange provides mounting of an electrical or a pneumatic actuator. To operate these valves use a handle. These ball valves have a full bore and offer maximum flow rates with the lowest pressure drop. The valves in the BL2CI-AMF-GA-series of Tameson are characterized by a long service life.
