The DEHNshield is a combined lightning current and surge arrester that uses spark-gap technology. Optimised for both type 1 and type 2 applications, its compact design takes up only 1 module space per pole. It is suitable for use in residential buildings and special applications and can protect terminal equipment. Designed to shield low-voltage consumer installations against surges, even in the event of direct lightning strikes, it complies with lightning protection zone concepts from 0A – 2. It has a maximum continuous AC voltage of 255V, a nominal AC voltage of 230V, safety levels of 1.5kV, and an extinguishing follow current capacity of 25kA.
