These air couplings are available in different colors with each a distinctive connection shape (octagon, triangle, circle). Plug and sockets of the same color can be combined. Two different colors cannot be combined. This prevents the risk of accidentally connecting to a wrong medium or pressure line. Please note that a color coded plug or socket is still compatible to the same size standard non-color coded socket or plug. The DN 5 profile is a popular standard size for air couplings. They are amongst others compatible with Rectus 21 & 90, Camozzi, EWO and KANI. The male thread allows the mounting into a matching female threaded part. A pneumatic coupling is used to quickly connect air tools to a compressed air line. The coupling requires two parts: the socket (female) and the plug or nipple (male part). When disconnected, the coupling automatically seals off to maintain the line pressure.
