2/2-Way Hydraulic Solenoid Valves
2/2-way hydraulic solenoid valves open or close one hydraulic line electrically. They have two ports and two switching positions, open and closed, and are used to release or lock a cylinder, switch an accumulator or a circuit branch on or off, or unload a pump. Seat-type valves close with a poppet on a seat, which keeps leakage very low in the closed position.
Two choices define the valve. Normally closed (NC) valves are closed when de-energised; normally open (NO) valves close when energised. The shut-off direction is the second choice. A unidirectional valve blocks flow in one direction only when closed and lets flow pass freely the other way, like a check valve. A bidirectional valve blocks both directions. Connect the side that must hold pressure to the blocked port.
Pilot-operated valves use the system pressure to open and close, so they need a minimum pressure difference across the valve to switch reliably. An emergency release screw lets you relieve the blocked side by hand while the valve is closed. Then size the valve on flow, check the pressure rating and port thread, and choose the coil voltage.
