Applications include highly stressed sliding surfaces, ideally at low slip speeds or with oscillating movements, such as with screwed, mating or bayonet connections made of high-alloy steel or non-ferrous metals. In combustion engines and turbines, for example, it also proves useful when it comes to surface separation of temperature-stressed threaded connections.
