Solenoid Valve G1/4'' NC Polyamide EPDM 0.2-10bar/3-145psi 230VAC Drinking Water

Solenoid Valve G1/4'' NC Polyamide EPDM 0.2-10bar/3-145psi 230VAC Drinking Water
Reference: V3HH2
Brand: Eltek

2/2 Way solenoid valve with G 1/4 inch threads and a 230 V AC coil. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally closed (voltage = open). The valve is indirect operating, so a small differential pressure required. Suitable for max media temperatures of 90 °C (194 °F) and a pressure range of 0.2 - 10 bar (3 - 145 psi). Housing of plastic (PA66-GF30) with EPDM sealing and a 9 mm orifice. The Kv-value is 0.48 m3/h (8.0 l/min at dp = 1 bar water). Low risk of water hammer thanks to dampened closing. Suitable for drinking water.

This is an indirect operating 2/2 way solenoid valve with G 1/4 inch threads and a 230 V AC coil. The valve has a plastic (PA66-GF30) housing with EPDM sealing and an orifice size of 9 mm. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally closed, which means the valve opens when voltage is applied. Suitable for a pressure of 0.2 - 10 bar (3 - 145 psi) and a maximum temperature of 90 °C (194 °F). The maximum medium temperature is allowed for up to 3/5 minutes. For continuous operation 25 °C is allowed. The valve has a Kv-value of 0.48 m3/h, this translates to a flow rate of 8 l/min at a differential pressure of 1 bar (for water). In imperial units: Cv = 1, which means 1 GPM @ 1 psi pressure drop. For many applications it is enough to select a valve based on the thread size and orifice diameter. For more accurate sizing, use the Kv-value with our easy to use valve sizing calculator. The nylon (polyamide) housing has excellent chemical and mechanical properties making it resistant to salt water (seawater), hydrocarbons, organic solvents, oils, and greases. The EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber) sealing is suited for neutral fluids and many chemicals, but it has poor resistance to oils and fats. Please note that the internal valve parts, such as the stainless steel plunger and springs, are also in contact with the medium and must be chemically compatible. Consult our chemical resistance chart to verify compatibility of housing and seals with the medium. The valve's design prevents water hammering. Energy efficient design for a long product lifecycle. This valve is certified for use with drinking water.

Pros:

  • Suitable for drinking water with WRAS, KTW and NSF certification
  • The energy-saving design limits the heating of the medium and increases the lifespan
  • Solenoid valves open and close very fast compared to many other valve types
  • Low risk on water hammer, thanks to the dampened closing

Cons:

  • Not suited for low pressure differentials (< 0.2 bar). In case of low pressure or a vacuum, consider a (semi-)direct solenoid valve
  • Solenoid valves are very sensitive to dirt and can only be used with clean liquids and gasses
  • The coil may get hot when energized. A well ventilated environment is recommended

Series:

These plastic solenoid valves are normally closed (NC) and indirect operating. Their unique industrial design and "low water hammer construction" make them perfectly suited for all types of water installations. The materials used and rigorous checks carried out ensure maximum reliability and longevity. These valves offer distinctive features such as quick mounting thanks to integrated push-in connections and attachment using DIN-rail clips. They are economical due to their fast installation, making them a cost-effective choice.
