Description
This is a vented brass ball valve designed for depressurization of the compressed air system. When closed, the valve depressurizes the piping system through a G 1/4 inch venting borehole. The valve bore is 40 mm.
The valve has G 1-1/2 inch threaded ports. This is BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel). With our wide range of 1-1/2 inch fittings, you can connect it to any piping system.
The housing of the valve is made of nickel-plated brass, the ball is made of hard chrome plated brass and the sealings are made of PTFE. The valve is suitable for air and water up to a maximum pressure of 14 bar or 203 psi, and vacuum (max. -0.98 bar or -14 psi). The valve can be used within a temperature range from -10 to 100 °C (14 to 212 °F).
Use the handle to operate the valve. By rotating it 90 degrees, the valve will open or close. If the handle is perpendicular to the pipe, the inlet port is closed and the outlet port is vented to the environment. This valve is not suitable for electrical or pneumatic control. For this purpose, valves with an ISO-Top flange (ISO 5211) are recommended.
Pros:
- Suitable for vacuum (max. -0.98 bar or -14 psi)
- Ideal for depressurization of compressed air systems
- Provides safer working environment by depressurizing machines and tools
Cons:
- Suitable only for manual operation
BL3BN-MVT series
Our BL3BN-MVT vented brass ball valve series ranges from 1/4 to 2 inch threaded ports. It includes valves designed with a borehole for depressurization of compressed air systems. The housing is made of nickel-plated brass, the ball is made of hard chrome plated brass and the sealings are PTFE. The operating pressure is up to 14 bar or 203 psi, with possibility of vacuum applications with a minimum pressure of -0.98 bar or -14 psi. The valve can be used within a temperature range from -10 to 100 °C (14 to 212 °F). The valves are handle operated.
