Description
This is an elbow pneumatic needle valve for air flow throttling and open/close control.
It has a 1/4 inch push-in fitting on one side and an R 1/4 inch male threaded port on the other side. The push-in fitting provides an easy connection with the tubing. Push the tube in and the fitting will fix it with stainless steel claws.
It is suitable for a maximum operating pressure of 9 bar (130.5 psi. Also suitable for vacuum applications at a pressure of -1 bar (-14.5 psi). It has NBR seals that make it suitable for applications within a temperature range from 0 to 60°C (32 to 140 °F) (no freezing).
Use a rotatable needle to adjust the orifice size that defines the flow rate and fix it with a locknut. Turn the needle in the clockwise direction to reduce and in the counterclockwise to increase the orifice size. When adjusting the flow rate start from the fully closed state to avoid a sudden move of an actuator. Avoid turning the needle with excessive torque, otherwise the flow characteristics may change due to the deformed resin valve seat.
Pros:
- Suitable for vacuum applications
- Equipped with easy to connect push-in fittings
Cons:
- Dust could damage the pneumatic system if vacuum is applied without a filter on the inlet side
JNC series
The JNC - series includes elbow (standard and clean-room package version) needle valves for two-directional air flow control. These valves have a push-in fitting port on one side and a threaded port on the other side. The push-in fitting sizes range from 4 to 12 mm and from 1/ to 3/8 inch and threaded ports are M5x0.8 and also ranging from R1/8 to R1/2 inch. The valves are suitable for a maximum operating pressure of 9 bar and a vacuum of -1 bar. They are suitable for temperatures ranging from 0 to 60°C (no freezing) thanks to the NBR sealing. The housing and the needle are made of nickel-plated brass.
