Pressure And Suction Hoses

View Tameson''s selection of pressure suction hoses. A pressure hose is used under positive pressure to discharge materials and a suction hose is used under negative pressure to remove materials. Tameson’s cost effective selection includes, but is not limited to, hoses suitable for sand, wood chippings and high vacuum applications. These tubes and hoses are used to transport different solid and liquid products to and from various processing points within a system using high pressure or vacuum. Pressure suction hoses are typically manufactured from plastics like PVC and polyurethene coated with a abrasion resistant coating. All pressure suction hoses have a spiral made of a high tensile-strength material like steel or copper.

Pressure hose

A pressure hose utilizes a pump to create positive pressure to move the media away from it. Common media are water or small objects (sand, wood chippings, etc.) that need to be removed or discharged from a system. The media moves in the direction of the positive pressure.

Suction hose

A suction hose utilizes a pump to create a negative pressure to move the media to it. They are often used to pull media or small objects out of a system. The media moves in the direction of the negative pressure.

Selection criteria

The selection criteria for a pressure hose or a suction hose are the same. It is important to know your application''s operating pressure, working temperature, inner diameter and bending radius. For food-grade, antistatic and other special applications Tameson offers specialty hoses that comply with the various ISO and DIN standards. You should also take into consideration abrasion of the media, media chemical resistance, and environmental factors.
