This Belimo electrical actuator is designed for controlling quarter turn valves. The actuator delivers a torque of 160 Nm and can open/close the valve in 35 seconds. This actuator requires a supply voltage of 24-125 V DC / 24-240 V AC and has a visual positioning indicator to clearly see the valve position. The actuator features open/close 3-point control, supports BACnet MSTP/Modbus RTU/MP-Bus communication protocols and provides precise position feedback in the range of 0-10 V or 2-10 V, ensuring accurate and responsive control in various applications. The actuator simultaneously positions the valve as the integrated capacitors are charged. In case of a power supply interruption, the valve automatically returns to the open/close position using stored electrical energy. The actuator has a durable plastic housing and has an IP67 protection rating. This actuator can operate within ambient temperatures between -30 and 50 °C (-22 and 122 °F). The actuator is equipped with 2 x SPDT auxiliary switches. A power cable can be easily attached via the terminal block.

An internal heater prevents condensation. The built-in heater automatically switches on/off thanks to the integrated temperature and humidity sensor.

Manual operation of the valve can be done using a hand crank. Manual unlocking is done by removing the hand crank.

The actuator is equipped with overload protection, the actuator doesn't need limit switches and will stop automatically when the end stop is reached. For conventional control with an analog control signal, BACnet or Modbus can be used for communicative position feedback. The actuator can be directly mounted on the butterfly valve. The mounting orientation relative to the butterfly valve can be chosen in increments of 90°. The actuator is suitable for outdoor use and is protected against UV radiation, dirt/dust, rain/snow, and air humidity. The factory settings cater to most common applications. Parametrization via Near Field Communication (NFC) requires the Belimo Assistant App, which simplifies commissioning and provides various diagnostic options. The ZTH EU service tool provides a range of diagnostic and setting options. The capacitor actuators require a pre-charging period to bring the capacitors to a usable voltage level. This ensures that, in case of a power failure, the actuator can move from its current position into the fail-safe position at any time. The preferred fail-safe position (0-100%) can be set using the "Belimo Assistant App" or ZTH EU. The setting always pertains to the adapted rotation angle range. In case of a power failure, the actuator moves into the selected fail-safe position. Post-factory delivery, the actuator is fully discharged and requires about 20 seconds of pre-charging before initial setup to attain the necessary voltage level in the capacitors.
