If you need to release air pressure when an application stops, choose a 5/3-way valve with an exhaust center. Due to the exhaust center, these valves block air from being trapped in cylinders when stopped. As an example, if clamped material needs to be removed manually, the valve needs to relieve air pressure when it is off.
