Stainless Steel Solenoid Valves

Explore Tameson’s wide range of 2-way stainless steel solenoid valves from various global manufacturers. 2-way stainless steel solenoid valves have 2 ports (an inlet and an outlet), 2 switching states (open or closed), and are electromechanically controlled. They are suitable for gasses and clean (non-viscous) media and are known for their quick response time (tenth to hundreds of milliseconds), good sealing properties, durability, and reliability. 2-way stainless steel solenoid valves are used to solely start/stop the flow of media and are usually normally closed (power is required to open the valve) so that the valve remains closed in case of failure. They can also be designed as normally open (power is required to close the valve) or bi-stable (latching by staying in the most recent position with no power).

Stainless steel solenoid valves have stainless steel as the housing material. The stainless steel material quality options are:

  • Stainless steel 316 (1.4401)
  • Stainless steel 304 (1.4301)
  • Stainless steel 316 L (1.4404)

Stainless steel has very good overall chemical resistance to almost any medium. Also, the material is highly wear, temperature, and pressure-resistant. However, it is unsuitable for hydrochloric acids, chlorides, bromine, and household bleach. Swimming pool water has a low concentration of chlorides, and therefore, stainless steel 316 can still be used. Additional selection criteria are but are not limited to the following: connection size, voltage, seal material, function, operation, pressure, temperature, bore size, approvals, and more. Also, there are special versions suitable for ATEX, gas approval, and medium-separate applications.
