This is a Belimo 3-way globe valve with a coated cast iron housing and EPDM sealing. The bore diameter of the valve is DN 80 and the flange size is DN 80. The valve cone features an equipercentual characteristic according to VDI/VDE 2173, optimized within its opening range. The maximum pressure differential is 8 bar (116 psi). The valve can operate between 5 and 120 °C (41 to 248 °F). The Kv value of the valve is 90 m3/h, equivalent to a Cv-value of 104.13 gpm. The valve's stroke length is 18 mm. The actuator requires a supply voltage of 24 V AC/DC. The actuator supports BACnet MSTP/Modbus RTU/MP-Bus communication protocols and requires product ZTH EU for setting the protocol address and linking the actuator to the system. Furthermore, ZTH EU allows the setting of an analog 0-10V or 2-10V control signal. The actuator opens/closes the valve in 150 seconds. The actuator has an IP54 rating. The actuator is equipped with a fail-safe (NC/NO) feature that ensures safe operation in the event of a power failure.

The actuator is equipped with a fail-safe (NC/NO) feature that ensures safe operation in the event of a power failure.

The actuator, equipped with overload protection, the actuator doesn't need limit switches and will stop automatically when the end stop is reached. Manual override is possible with a push-button, which disengages the gear train for as long as the button is pressed or locked. The stroke can be adjusted using a 4mm hexagon socket screw key inserted at the actuator's top, with the stroke shaft extending when turned clockwise. The actuator can be directly mounted on the globe valve using form-fit hollow clamping jaws and it can be rotated 360° on the valve neck. The actuator moves the valve to the desired operating position simultaneously as the integrated capacitors charge. If the power supply is interrupted, the valve shifts to the chosen fail-safe position using the stored electrical energy. The actuator comes with an inbuilt interface for BACnet MSTP, Modbus RTU, and MP-Bus. It obtains the digital control signal from the control system and provides the present status. The default factory setting retracts the actuator stem. The capacitor actuators require a pre-charging period to bring the capacitors to a usable voltage level. This ensures that, in case of a power failure, the actuator can move from its current position into the fail-safe position at any time. The rotary knob fail-safe position allows for adjustment of the preferred fail-safe position. The adjustment range is based on the actuator's maximum stroke height. In case of power failure, the actuator moves to the chosen fail-safe position considering a factory set bridging time of 2 seconds. Post-factory delivery, the actuator is fully discharged and requires about 20 seconds of pre-charging before initial setup to attain the necessary voltage level in the capacitors.

Pros:

  • Equal percentage flow characteristic, the bypass has a linear characteristic
  • Modulating actuator with fieldbus or a 0-10 V/2-10 V signal
