Plastic solenoid valves are widely used across all industries due to their chemical resistance and cost. PVC solenoid valves are the most common plastic material selection, but it is important to understand your media to pick the correct one. Typically the valves are "normally closed", meaning with no power they are closed. This is ideal for applications where the valves are only occasionally turned on to conserve power or for fail-safe reasons. "Normally open" and bi-stable plastic solenoid valves are also options. Various connection types (threaded, hose pillar, push-in, sleeve, flanged, etc.) are available to quickly connect your valve to your hose, pipe, or component.

Material Quality

PVC solenoid valves are the most common as they are suitable for corrosive and non-corrosive media (seawater, most acids and bases, salt solutions, and organic solvents) and are lower in cost. However, plastic typically has a low pressure and temperature rating compared to a metal valve. All plastic options are below and can be filtered out above:

  • Polypropylene (PP)
  • Polyamide (PA)
  • Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
