Brand: JP Fluid Control

JP Fluid Control 2 way solenoid valve (type CM-IA) with G 1/2 inch threads and a 120 V AC coil. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally closed (voltage = open) and indirect operating, so a small differential pressure required. Suitable for max media temperature of 130° C (266 ° F) pressure range of 0.5 - 16 bar (7 - 232 psi). Housing of brass with EPDM sealing and a 12 mm orifice. The Kv-value is 2.05 m3/h (34.17 l/min at dp=1 bar water).

This is a JP Fluid Control indirect operating 2 way solenoid valve with G 1/2 inch threads and a 120 V AC coil. The valve has a brass housing with EPDM sealing and an orifice size of 12 mm (approximately 15/32 inch). The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally closed, which means the valve opens when voltage is applied.
The valve is suitable for pressures of 0.5 - 16 bar (7 - 232 psi) and a maximum temperature of 130° C (266° F). The valve has a Kv-value of 2.05 m3/h, which translates to a flow rate of 34.17 l/min at a differential pressure of 1 bar (for water). In imperial units: Cv = 2.37, which means 2.37 GPM @ 1 psi pressure drop. For simple applications it is often enough to select a valve based on the thread size and orifice diameter. For more accurate sizing, use the Kv-value with our easy to use valve sizing calculator.
The brass housing is durable, suitable for neutral fluids and resistant to many chemicals. The EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber) sealing is suitable for neutral fluids and many chemicals, but it has poor resistance to oils and fats. Consult our chemical resistance chart to verify compatibility of housing and seals with the medium. The valve has an IP65 rating if properly connected.

Pros:

  • Compact and low energy consumption of 8 VA
  • Solenoid valves open and close very fast compared to many other valve types
  • Delivered including coil and connector
  • EPDM is suitable for (hot) water, neutral fluids and many chemicals
  • Good protection against the environment thanks to the IP65 rating

Cons:

  • Not suited for low pressure differentials (< 0.5 bar). If you have a low pressure or a vacuum, consider a (semi-)direct solenoid valve or another valve type such as an electric ball valve
  • EPDM is not suitable for oils and fats
  • Solenoid valves are very sensitive to dirt and can only be used with clean liquids and gases
  • Solenoid valves use energy while activated and the coil may get hot. A well ventilated installation environment is recommended to dissipate the heat

CM-IA series

The CM-IA is an indirectly controlled 2/2-way valve and specially designed for installations where compactness and energy efficiency is important. The starting position is normally closed. The solenoid valves require a pressure differential of 0.5 bar for proper operation. The pipe connections are 3/8, 1/2 orifice 12 mm) or 3/4 (orifice 20 mm). The body is made of brass with an NBR, EPDM or FKM seal. The CM-IA solenoid valves are compatible with all of the coils from the CS4-series.
The valves are available with BSP or NPT threads on request.
