Solenoid Valve G3/4'' NC Brass PTFE 1-25bar/15-363psi 24VDC Oxygen Fat/Oil Free 5404 225273
Reference: 225273
Brand: Burkert

Burkert 2/2 way solenoid valve (type 5404) with G 3/4 inch threads and a 24 V DC coil. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally closed (voltage = open). The valve is indirect operating, so a small differential pressure required. Suitable for max media temperatures of 60 °C (140 °F) and a pressure range of 1 to 25 bar (15 to 363 psi). Housing of brass with PTFE sealing and a 20 mm orifice. The Kv-value is 7 m3/h (116.69 l/min at dp = 1 bar water). The valve is fat and oil free.
Note: DIN connector not included.

This is a Burkert indirect operating 2/2 way solenoid valve with G 3/4 inch threads and a 24 V DC coil. The valve has a brass housing with PTFE sealing and an orifice size of 20 mm. The circuit function of the solenoid valve is normally closed, which means the valve opens when voltage is applied. Suitable for a pressure range of 1 to 25 bar (15 to 363 psi) and a maximum temperature of 60 °C (140 °F). The valve has a Kv-value of 7 m3/h, this translates to a flow rate of 117 l/min at a differential pressure of 1 bar (for water). In imperial units: Cv = 8, which means 8 GPM @ 1 psi pressure drop. For many applications it is enough to select a valve based on the thread size and orifice diameter. For more accurate sizing, use the Kv-value with our easy to use valve sizing calculator. The brass housing is durable, suitable for neutral fluids and resistant to many chemicals. The PTFE (polytetrafluoroethene or teflon) sealing, is resistant to almost all media. Please note that the internal valve parts, such as the stainless steel plunger and springs, are also in contact with the medium and must be chemically compatible. Consult our chemical resistance chart to verify compatibility of housing and seals with the medium. The valve is fat and oil free, meaning it won't contaminate the media. Therefore, it's suitable for laboratory use as well as oxygen. The valve has an IP65 rating if properly connected.

Pros:

  • Oil and fat free, so the valve does not contaminate the medium
  • Good protection against the environment thanks to the IP65 rating
  • This valve is suitable for use with oxygen
  • Solenoid valves open and close very fast compared to many other valve types

Cons:

  • Not suited for low pressure differentials (< 1 bar). In case of low pressure or a vacuum, consider a (semi-)direct solenoid valve
  • Solenoid valves are very sensitive to dirt and can only be used with clean liquids and gases
  • The coil may get hot when energized. A well ventilated environment is recommended
  • DIN connector not included

Series:

The Bürkert 5404 is an indirect operated solenoid valve, which means that a pressure difference of at least 1 bar is required to open the valve. The 5404 valve features a piston that seals the valve, replacing the common flexible rubber membrane. This robust design allows for high working pressures, in some versions up to 80 bar. The gate sizes range from 1/2 inch to 2 inch. The dimensions of the orifice range from DN 12 to DN 50. A popular application for the 5404 valve is as a relief valve for compressors. Additionally, 5404 valves with ATEX explosion approval are available. Gas and steam versions are available for temperatures up to 160°C, as well as special versions designed for temperatures as low as -40°C.
