Actuated Disc Valves For Flow And Process Control

View our range of disc type control valves designed for use in open or closed control loops. They are equipped with integrated electronics for open/close or proportional control of the flow. The proportional disc control valves are either equipped with a position or process controller. These ceramic disc valves are driven by a stepper motor and controlled by either an analog or digital signal.

The disk valve consists of a stepper motor with gearbox which transfers the rotational torque to the actuator shaft via coupling. The valve has a fixed ceramic disc that acts as the seat and a movable disc that affects the size of the opening. The control/shut-off ceramic disc is attached to the shaft. The control disc is pressed onto the fixed disk by a supporting spring. The actuator turns the control disc about 180 degrees above the fixed disc and opens or closes the valve.

The disc valves are made of brass or stainless steel with different seat seal materials like oxide ceramics, FKM, EPDM or PEEK. They are suitable for control of clean media that doesn’t react with the housing and seal material. The orifice sizes range from 8 to 25 mm with BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel) or inner NPT ports. The operating pressure for these valves ranges from 0 to 6 bar (0 to 87 psi) and media temperatures ranging from 0 to 70°C (32 to 158 °F).
