Stainless Steel Ball Valves

Explore Tameson’s wide range of manual 2-way stainless steel ball valves from various global manufacturers. The 2-way stainless steel ball valve is one of the most robust and durable valves in the market. It has a stainless steel housing and two ports (an inlet and an outlet), and a ball with a bore in it. 2-way stainless steel ball valves are operated by a manual hand lever to turn the ball 90 degrees, which is why they are often called quarter-turn ball valves or shut-off valves. Simply turn the handle perpendicular to the pipe to close it and parallel to open it. This allows for easy visual identification on whether a two-way ball valve is open or closed.

The ball valve's stainless steel housing makes them very durable and often a good housing material choice as it generally has a very good overall chemical resistance to almost any medium. Stainless steel is capable of working with aggressive media. These valves are also suitable for water, oil, compressed air, fuels, solvents, and vacuum. The material is highly wear, temperature, and pressure resistant. However, stainless steel ball valves are unsuitable for hydrochloric acids, chlorides, bromine, and household bleach. Swimming pool water has a low concentration of chlorides, and therefore stainless steel 316 can still be used.
