Select and buy a manual 2-way brass ball valve online for your application. The 2-way brass ball valve is one of the most common valves on the market. It has a brass housing and 2 ports, an inlet and an outlet, and a ball with a bore in it. They are operated by a manual hand lever to turn the ball 90 degrees, which is why they are often called quarter turn ball valves or shut off valves. Simply turn the handle perpendicular to the pipe to close it and parallel to open it. Due to the brass housing and simple design, they are known for their simple operation, reliability, long service life, and wide range of application uses. The brass housing makes it suitable for water, compressed air, oils, non-aggressive media, and much more. They commonly have water or gas approvals and due to their threaded connection they are easy to install.

Other main selection criteria for manual 2-way brass ball valves include: connection size, seal material, pressure rating, and temperature rating.

  • Right angle ball valves allow you to have on/off control between perpendicular pipes.
  • Threaded ball valves allow for quick and easy installation into existing piping or components with matching threads. Both male and female thread combinations are available.
  • Mini ball valves are ideal for applications with limited installation space as they save space, weight, and cost.
  • Brass faucet and boiler ball valves are used for faucet and boiler applications as they drain or discharge your system.
  • Brass ball valve with approvals for drinking water, gas and oxygen applications. These valves conform to DVGW, KTW, and/or the DIN-EN 331 standard.
  • Bleed point and strainer ball valves allow for draining of condensate and air recharging.
  • Ball valves (ISO-top) are ready to be installed with an electric or pneumatic actuator due to the ISO 5211 top.

Brass housing

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc and has great mechanical properties. Brass ball valves are known for their durability and no leakage over their life span, even if they have not been used for a long period of time. These brass ball valves can be used with drinking water, gas, mineral oils, compressed air and many other non-aggressive media. But they are not suitable for use with salt water or distilled water due to the risk of dezincification. Dezincification reduces the mechanical strength of the brass by causing the zinc to be removed from the alloy resulting in a porous structure. However, brass ball valves are more resistant against contaminated media as compared to other types of housing material and provide reliable sealing even in case of dirty media.

They can withstand high pressure, high temperature and high flow rates. They are also economical due to their simple and robust design, low cost and low maintenance needs. Due to these advantages, brass ball valves are used in a wide range of residential and industrial applications. Some common application includes controlling domestic hot and cold water systems, steam applications, irrigation system, natural gas system, marine industries, fire protection application, chemical industries, etc.
