Paul has a rich background in mechanical engineering, having graduated from the University of Technology Eindhoven. He has experience working on the development of electric vehicles and has always been passionate about technology. From a young age, he was involved in repairing various machines and vehicles, gaining a wealth of practical knowledge. This hands-on experience, combined with his entrepreneurial spirit, has allowed Paul to successfully lead Tameson and its team of motivated professionals.
Bio
Paul van Oorschot, co-founder of Tameson alongside Jan-Willem Pustjens, is a dedicated father to Jacob and Eliza. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys working on engineering projects, singing in a band, and traveling.
Engineering background
“I have less time nowadays to focus solely on technology, but I used to build and repair everything. Whether with cars or something electrical, I always had a tool in my hand".
Although Paul's current role doesn't allow him to focus solely on technology, he has always been passionate about building and repairing various devices. With a background in mechanical engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology, he specialized in electric car development during his studies. Following graduation, Paul spent a year researching the subject, collaborating with numerous industry partners. His passion for technology was inherited from his father, with whom he repaired old Landrovers from a young age. Paul's early experience as a mechanic from age 13, working on chainsaws, tractors, and lawn mowers, provided him with invaluable practical knowledge.
A breath of fresh air
“Valves are a wonderful product for me, which in my opinion are not given the attention they deserve. The market is mature and quite conservative and the transition to a good online presence is relatively slow. It is great fun to approach this market with a breath of fresh air. With Tameson, we give a lot of attention to IT, product data management and automation. By linking these elements together, we aim to step ahead of our competitors and improve the customer experience and satisfaction. This is a tough but rewarding challenge. We regularly run into the fact that the possibilities are endless, but the resources are limited. We deal with this problem on a daily basis and that obliges us to make choices.”

Despite his technical background, Paul has shifted his focus to developing his entrepreneurial skills. He is involved in various aspects of the company, including business development, IT, Engineering and finance.
