G2'' Brass Relief valve 2 - 8 bar / 29 - 116 psi

G2'' Brass Relief valve 2 - 8 bar / 29 - 116 psi
Reference: 617-8-200
Brand: Goetze

This is a pressure relief valve with G 2 inch inlet and outlet ports. The set pressure can be set between 2 and 8 bar (29 to 116 psi). The blow-off capacity is dependent on the set pressure with a range of 1001 to 2666 m3/h for air and 24.3 to 47.4 m3/h for water. The housing is made of brass and the sealing from FKM (FPM). Suitable for a temperature range of -20 °C to 200 °C (-4 °F to 392 °F).

A pressure relief valve (also known as an overflow valve) is used to limit or control the pressure in a system. It automatically opens at a set pressure and provides proportional and slow pressure relief. A main application is the protection of a pump in a closed circuit.

You can manually set the set pressure between 2 and 8 bar (29 to 116 psi), but in a single relief valve system it should not be set higher than the maximum allowable working pressure (MAWP) in the system. The pressure value can be adjusted with an allen key without disasembly. The blow-off capacity is dependent on the set pressure with a range of 1001 to 2666 m3/h for air and 24.3 to 47.4 m3/h for water. Please see our datasheet with blow-off capacities for different pressures.

This valve has G 2 inch inlet and outlet ports. The housing material is brass and the sealings are made from FKM (FPM). This model is suitable for compressed air, non-flammable gases, water and other neutral, non-toxic fluids, mineral oils. The temperature range of this relief valve is between -20 °C and 200 °C (-4 °F and 392 °F).

Pros:

  • Sutable for air and liquids
  • Gas-tight and compact design
  • Can be adjusted without disassembly
  • High blow-off capacity of 2666 m3/h for air (47.4 m3/h for water)

Cons:

  • It is not considered a safety valve as it provides proportional and slow pressure relief

617 series

The 617 series relief valves are designed to open at a set pressure and protect your application from overloading. There is also possible to use this valve as an overflow valve if the system pressure often changes.

The 617 relief valves are available with a wide set pressure range between 0.5 and 20 bar (7.25 and 290 psi), which can be adjusted manually. As opposed to safety valves, relief valves provide gradual pressure relief while safety valves provide immediate pressure relief. They come with various sizes with corresponding blow-off capacities. The sealing material is either FKM or PTFE. They are suitable for compressed air, water, mineral oils and other non-flammable gases and non-toxic fluids.
