Standard Air Couplings

View Tameson’s wide range of standard air couplings. These air couplings have a nominal diameter (DN) range from 2.7 – 7.2 mm and are the most used standards in Europe. The DN 7.2 (euro profile) is the most popular. The DN 5.5 (orion or ARO) is traditionally popular in the Benelux and Switzerland, but has a lower flow rate than the Euro profile. They have a comparable shape, but they are not compatible! Other popular sizes are DN 5 and DN 2.7 (micro). A pneumatic coupling is used to quickly connect air tools to a compressed air line. The coupling requires two parts: the socket (female) and the plug or nipple (male part). When disconnected, the coupling automatically seals off to maintain the line pressure. They are often referred to as compressed air couplings, compressor couplings, pneumatic fittings, air hose couplings, etc.
