8mm Plastic Push-in Silencer Pisco

8mm Plastic Push-in Silencer Pisco
Reference: ST8
Brand: Pisco

This plastic (PBT) pneumatic silencer is used to vent pressurized air to the atmosphere in a safe way. Through their design, they decrease the audible noise of vented pressurized air by increasing the surface area of the release of pressurized air. It has a push-in connection fitting of 8 mm to connect to a hose. It can handle an ambient temperature of 0 - 60 °C and an operating pressure range of 0 - 9 bars.

This Pisco plastic (PBT) pneumatic silencer, also called a pneumatic muffler, is used to vent pressurized air to the atmosphere in a safe way. Air exiting a pneumatic pressurized system can cause an audible noise, which can cause harm to workers or not meet application noise specifications. They decrease the audible noise by increasing the surface area of the release of pressurized air. It has a push-in connection fitting of 8 mm to connect to a hose. It can handle an ambient temperature of 0 - 60 °C and an operating pressure range of 0 - 9 bars. Depending on your usage, you should incorporate a silencer cleaning schedule into the system maintenance planning. Remove the silencer and rinse it under lukewarm tap water. Then use compressed air to blow away any remaining dirt particles. Do this from outside to inside instead of the usual inside to outside.

Pros:

  • Decreases the noise of exiting pressurized air to keep workers safe and application noise specifications correct
  • It has a push-in fitting connection for easy installation and movement of the silencer

Cons:

  • Decreased flow rate, however, it is minimal
  • It is not a flat design, so it has a protrusion that takes up space

Pisco S - Series

The Pisco S-series products are an excellent addition to a pneumatic system to safely vent pressurized air to the atmosphere. They have a threaded design to attach to pneumatic components exhaust port, like a pneumatic solenoid valve, but also designs with a push-in fitting to connect to pneumatic hoses for quick movement of the silencer. They are all made of plastic.
